Mass. Secretary of Economic Development Hao Cuts Ribbon at New Amenity Space in Devens

King Street broke ground in Devens in 2020 and since then it has landed some major tenants including Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Electric Hydrogen, Azzur, and Ascend Elements.   The Pathway Devens campus was designed to create quick, efficient ready-to-work infrastructure for tenants with specialized manufacturing needs.

“We are excited to see Devens growing with the addition of Pathway Devens and its new Canteen, which will provide those working in the area with a fun place to meet with colleagues, socialize, and share ideas,” said Secretary of Economic Development Yvonne Hao. “We congratulate King Street Properties on the opening of this exciting space and remain grateful for their ongoing partnership, along with our colleagues at MassDevelopment, in making Devens a regional hub for economic activity.”

“MassDevelopment has been proud to lead the redevelopment of Devens as a thriving community home to hundreds of residents and a vibrant mix of businesses, nonprofits, and government organizations that employ about 10,000 workers,” said Acting MassDevelopment President and CEO Dan O’Connell. “King Street Properties’ Pathway Devens campus has already added to this momentum by creating space for new and innovative businesses to locate here. The amenity center will serve as a welcome spot to dine, gather, and socialize in Devens, benefiting Pathway employees and the entire community.”

“Today we are celebrating a major milestone for Pathway Devens – the completion of The Canteen and the grand opening of Sterling Street brewery” says Tyson Reynoso, King Street Managing Director & Partner.  “We have now delivered over half of our campus, and we are proud to call Pathway Devens the home to companies that are all tacking some of the world’s biggest issues in climate and human health.  This validates our belief that there is a need for advanced manufacturing in Massachusetts.  The Canteen is a key differentiator of our campus, and we expect it will be widely enjoyed by our tenants and the larger Devens community.”

Local muralist Kim Carlino also joined the Ribbon Cutting celebration, acknowledging her hand painted ‘Remembrance for the Future’ mural on the exterior of The Canteen. The mural pays homage to the history of the site as the former home to the Fort Devens Army base built in 1917 during WWI. The colorful mural symbolizes renewal, remembrance, and growth.
